A Gift to Get Ahead

In Battle Creek, a local businessman donated a new computer to a student at W.K. Kellogg Preparatory High School this week. The student is expected to graduate in January of 2020, but because of a number of daily barriers (attending school full time, working part time, care-giving for grandparents and more), she was beginning to fall behind. Now, transportation is one less thing she will have to worry about thanks to this businessman and CIS Site Coordinator Jennifer Williams. With the gift of this computer, she will be able to work from home when she doesn't have transportation or needs to care for her grandparents. When she graduates in January she will be the first of her 6 siblings to complete high school.
